　　My favourite hobbies are reading and writing。When I was young， I was not fond of them 。 For a little child ， reading and writing were boring But my teacher encouraged me to try to write down my feelings after reading something。

　　So I had a try。At the beginning， there were only a few sentences on my notebook ，But I used to read them to my parents or classmates。It gave me enormous satisfaction and pleasure to be able to touch the lives of others with words because their respoonse gave me hope 。good—selfesteen and pride inmy abilities。 Reading and writing have helped me to give my life meaning。

　　Now I am a high school student， I donot have much time to read and write。 But words are at the very heart of my hobbies， and I am very happy that I can write in English。 In the future， reading and writing will be a funny way of my life。

　　I know a man Who has a coin collection worth several thousand yuan。 A short time ago he bought a rare ten-yuan piece worth 250 yuan。 He was very happy about the purchase and thought the price was reasonable， on the other hand， my son collects match boxes。 He has almost 600 of them but I doubt if they are wortfi any money。 However， to my son they are extremely valuable。 Nothing makes him happier than to find a new match-box for his collection。

　　Everyone has his hobby. My hobbies include swimming, composition, English and pipa, but I like swimming best.

　　Learning to swim is difficult for a man who is not in the water. Mainly because there is no confidence, fear of choking water. Summer vacation, I took part in the swimming class, under the guidance of the teacher, I took my swim ring, water through no longer afraid of choking water, then abandoned the swim ring, practice floating, after a hard practice, I set up the confidence, finally learned to floating. 　　一天，我和妈妈及朋友一起来到了“金茂国际俱乐部”。我们做了热身运动，就钻到了水底下，水的温度是28度，可是一点都没有那么高，我感到有点冷，但我们还是坚持游了3个小时，这是因为我经常在家练习增强体质，所以才会这样。感觉有点累，我们又玩了一会……

　　通过学习游泳，我深深感觉到对于一件事只要我们有兴趣并且刻苦努力去做，就一定会成功。
