　　人们常说：学习是痛苦的历程，不过我不明白，为什么受伤的总是我。

　　老妈学英语的热情日益高涨，因而我的苦难就日益加深，每当老妈问我英文的时候，一般我都会先吃三片阿司匹林，缠好绷带，再运上龟背神功至第十二重。

　　这不，她老人家又来问我了——

　　老妈：“这个‘I＇m very annoyed，don＇t trouble me.’是什么意思？”

　　我说：“啊……这个……我很烦，别烦我……”

　　老妈：“找打，跟你妈这么说话！”(于是被扁)

　　老妈又问：“‘I hear nothing，repeat.’是什么意思啊？”

　　我说：“我没听清，再说一次。”

　　老妈又说了一遍：“‘I hear nothing，repeat.’”

　　我说：“我没听清，再说一次！”(结果再次被扁)

　　老妈再问：“‘What do you say？’又怎么解释呢？”

　　我说：“你说什么？”(又被扁)

　　老妈继续问：“‘Look up in the dictionary’是何意啊？”

　　我说：“查字典。”

　　老妈：“查字典我还问你做甚！”(扁我)

　　老妈又问：“‘You had better ask somebody.’怎么翻呢？”

　　老妈：“你是我儿子，我问别人干吗，又找打……”

　　我起身要逃，被老妈抓了回来，又被扁！

　　老妈：“敢耍你老妈，哼哼！我再问你，‘Use your head，then think it over.’又是什么意思啊？”

　　我说：“动动脑子，再仔细想想……”

　　老妈：“好小子，还敢耍我！”(接着又要动手)

　　我连忙说：“不对，不对，是‘世上只有妈妈好’的'意思！”

　　老妈：“嗯！这还差不多，一会儿我给你做好吃的，明天再问你。”

　　第二天，我正在看碟，老妈捧了本书进来。

　　老妈：“这个‘I don＇t know.’是什么意思？”

　　我说：“我不知道。”

　　老妈：“送你上大学上了几年，你怎么什么都不知道！”

　　我说：不是！就是“我不知道”吗！

　　老妈：“还嘴硬……”(拳脚相加，一顿暴揍)

　　过了一会儿。

　　老妈：“这个‘I know.’是什么意思？这回你总该知道吧！”

　　我说：是“我知道。”

　　老妈：“知道就快说！”

　　我说：就是“我知道。”

　　老妈：“找茬呀你？刚才收拾你收拾得轻了是不？”

　　老妈：“知道你还不说！不懂不要装懂！”(又一顿暴揍)

　　老妈揍累了，喘气中……

　　老妈：“你给我小心点，花那么多钱送你上大学，搞的现在什么都不会，懂一丁点英语还跟老娘摆谱，再问你最后一个，你给我好好解释一下，说不出来我再收拾你。给我翻译一下‘I know but I don’t want to tell you.’是什么意思？”

　　我晕倒，拿起枕头往头上暴砸三十几下，用头撞墙四十多下，双手轮番抽自己嘴巴五十多下，用腿踢桌子角六十多下，血肉模糊之时，我问老妈：“意思是‘我知道，但我不想告诉你！’这下你满意吧！”

　　要说我敬佩的一个人，那就是我的妈妈，她长得不高也不矮，瘦瘦的，好象一阵风就会把妈妈吹倒（开个玩笑）。接下来我就给你讲讲妈妈学英语的事。

　　那时我才上三年级，学校里开了英语课，每次老师说要我们回家读课文给家长听，可是好多地方妈妈不懂，我读错了她也不知道，而且我不会读的单词和课文也没有人帮我辅导，为这妈妈和我都很苦恼。几天以后妈妈做了个想象不到的决定：妈妈要学—英—语。我和爸爸都不敢相信自己的耳朵。

　　妈妈说到果然做到，她先去买了许多英语教材和磁带，然后又去报了英语班。可是大多数英语班都是教小孩子的，好不容易才找到一个教成人英语的，妈妈很高兴。

　　妈妈一开始学英语很困难，爸爸劝她说：“你现在都三十多了，记忆又不好，没有年轻时的脑子好用了，反正也学不好，不如别学了。”我也劝妈妈不要那么辛苦，可妈妈就是不听，她说：“我不能半途而废，有始无终，我一定要坚持，要给璐璐做个好榜样，不是吗？”然后妈妈有接着背单词、读课文。因为妈妈基础不扎实，所以要从三年级的教材开始学。晚上我们叫妈妈睡觉了，她说：“你们先睡我过一会就睡”。我们就没管她。12点多了我起来喝水，看见妈妈还在看书就劝她早就休息，她点点头说：“再学一会”。

　　到了第二天，我们看见妈妈的眼睛红红的肿肿的，也不知道昨天晚上几点才睡，爸爸生气的说：“你爱惜点自己的身体好不好？多大的人了，眼睛还要不要？”我也对妈妈说：“你这样是会影响上班的'。”妈妈只是笑笑，照样我行我素，爸爸一生气就把妈妈报的那个英语班给退了。妈妈知道后很伤心，不理爸爸了好几天。我们以为妈妈伤心过后就不学了，但我们错了，妈妈照样坚持着，自己边学边找老师，就这样妈妈坚持了两年多，终于学会了英语，现在我的英语也有人帮我辅导了，我们能在家里进行简单的英语对话，我的英语成绩也慢慢的上升，我真为我的妈妈骄傲。

　　But some other graduates want to start in small towns. Even though there may not be many big companies, they can have a quieter and less competitive life. Another reason is they can be a big fish in a small pond. They can easily get the management’s attention and may win promotion earlier.

　　As far as I am concerned, I prefer to start in a big city like Shanghai. A good begin is half the battle, and in Shanghai I can find a job in a big company where I can meet people from different places and cultures. I will learn from them what I can not get from textbooks.

He make no secret of hitting his wife and said he would shot her if he had a gun in a speech. What was astonishing is, the listener applause after he said that. This behavior can be considered as a support for domestic violence, which I can’t agree with.

　　李阳，我们熟知他是疯狂英语的创始人，他在几年前大红大紫，现在他又跳入了公众的视线里，因为他声称自己是家暴代言人。他毫无掩饰地说他打妻子，还在演讲中说如果他有枪的话，早就射杀她了。令人震惊的是，他说完这些后竟然有听众鼓掌。这种行为可以看成是家暴的支持，这个我无法赞同。

　　Firstly, as to the Li Yang’s statement, his wife had said something bad about China, which has ruin his ability of tolerance. Therefore, his use violence to stop this. In my point of view, people once get married, they should understand each other, especially for mixed marriage. If their opinions diverge from each other, they should work it out in a peaceful way, not in a violent way. The worst as well as the best way is divorce.

　　第一，就像李阳说的，他的妻子说了中国的坏话，且超出了他的'容忍范围。因此，他就用暴力来阻止。在我看来，人们一旦结婚，他们就该相互理解，特别是跨国婚姻。如果他们意见有分歧，他们可以用和平的方法来解决，而不是用暴力。最坏也是最好的方法就是离婚。

　　Secondly, domestic violence gets anything good for family. Regardless the emotion break due to the violence, if it get worse, bone broken could be happen. What’s more, if the family have child, parents quarrel or fight in front of their children, there is no doubt that the child will have an unforgettable childhood phobia, it’s probably that he or she will become a violent people. Therefore, couples should control their hot temper, and have a chill mind when they about to quarrel.

　　第二，家暴对家庭毫无好处。除去家暴让感情破裂，如果还有更糟的发生，骨折也是有可能的。再者，如果家里有孩子，父母在孩子面前吵架打架，毫无疑问这会成为孩子无法忘记的童年阴影，他或者她也很有可能变成一个暴力的人。因此，夫妻该控制他们的脾气，在就要吵架的时候保持冷静的头脑。

　　In China, many people believe that some numbers can bring good luck, while some are often connected with misfortune. For example, number 6 in China usually means “doing things smoothly”, number 8 means “make a fortune”, and number 10 means “prefect”. While the number such as 4, usually means “death” because its pronunciation is similar with the Chinese character Si. Therefore, the superstitious people will try their best not to choose telephone numbers or car plate numbers or door numbers which are contain with 4. And the people usually will not have their wedding on 4th. People believe those numbers have magic power, which can bring them good luck or bad luck.

　　在中国，许多人相信一些数字能给人带来好运气，而另一些则不太吉利。比如说，数字6在中国表示“六六大顺”；数字8表示“挣大钱，大家发”，数字10则表示“十全十美”。而数字4，因为其发音与中文中的“死”字相近，所以被认为不吉利。因此，迷信的人们尽量避免自己的电话号码、车牌号码或是门牌号码含有数字4，人们通常也不会在4号举行婚礼。他们相信，这些数字是有魔力的，能给人带来好运气或坏运气。

　　In my humble opinion, I do not think these so-called lucky numbers can bring people good luck. Number stand for nothing but quantity. They are only some arbitrary symbols used for communication. Our ancestors created numbers for counting, not for luck. People believe number 8 can bring good fortune is only because the pronunciation of eight has almost the same sound of “fa cai” in Cantonese. The ironic part is the people who choose the number on purpose do not always make big money, while the people whose telephone numbers or car plate numbers contain 4 do not kick their buckets. Shakespeare said, “If we call a rose by any other name, it would smell sweet as well.” This means there is no connection between sound and meaning. So it’s no good to believe that number has something to do with the luck.
