　　whenever i have a party, hsiao-mei is always the first person i invite. she is such fun. i know that she will be able to make my other guests laugh. she does not get upset if somebody tries to tease or make fun of her, either.

　　hsiao-mei can also be very serious and can discuss almost anything you can think of. if it gets late before the party ends, i can always depend on hsiao-mei to clean up the house. she never says no, even if she is very tired and would rather go straight home to bed.

　　Yesterday my teacher told us that there was a typhoon and I was so scared of it.After dinner we prepared some candles and lighters in case there was no eletricity.And then we were just sitting in the living room and watching the news about the typhoon.

　　In the middle night,the wind blowed harder and the rain came down harder,too.The trees outside were blowed by the strong wind and batter a lot.The sounds outside was very loud and scary.Sometimes I could hear an ambulance driving by I hope it was not someone hit by an object.

　　This morning the typhoon had already left.My grandfather and I decided to take a walk around the neighborhood.Some trees fail down,some cars were damaged and some houses were damaged,too.But my father's car,my house and my family are fine.

　　自从上了三年级，我们开始渐渐地接触英语，而且，英语还慢慢地成了主科，我学会了学英语。在一、二年级的时候，语文数学需要考试，现在英语也加入到考试这个大家庭中。学英语成了一件苦差事。

　　有一天，在写英语作业的时候，我简直要被这枯燥而又“无味”的英语给弄烦了，我开始想：记单词这么难，难道就没有解决的办法了吗？如果单词记住了，可过了几天又忘了那又怎么办？我带着这两个百思不得其解的问题去请教妈妈，妈妈走到我的书桌旁，看着我已经写了二十多遍的单词，坐下来，语重心长地对我说：“学英语要讲究方法，不能急于求成，要看平时的积累。要是讲到记单词，我告诉你几个窍门儿：

　　1、写单词的时候要多用心记，写几遍以后要‘回过头’看看对不对，要保证写单词的准确性。

　　2、记单词要一边念一边写，这样可以加深对单词的印象。

　　3、记单词要根据发音，把单词分成几截，和已经会背的单词相互对比着记，这样不愁单词记不牢，我学会了学英语。”我听了，心里顿时豁然开朗。妈妈又开口了：“至于怎么让单词忘不了，那就得天天复习，只有这样才能把单词记牢。儿子，只要你记住这几个窍门，以后的英语单词就不用再犯愁了。”我听了妈妈的话，感觉知识的大门又向我敞开了。我照着妈妈的办法，连续试验了几天，记单词真是顺畅多了，我的英语成绩像发射的`火箭一样直线攀升。

　　现在，我已经成了五年级的学生，但是我还是坚持用这几个窍门儿，它们真是让我受益匪浅。如果没有这几个窍门儿，我的英语成绩不会上升得这么快；如果没有这几个窍门儿，我也不会成为现在我们班的“单词王”；如果没有这几个窍门儿，我更不会有这么大的词汇量。

　　今年暑假，妈妈为我报了英语班，是由黑人老外担任我们的英语老师。我高兴极了，心想：跟老外学英语，真是个新鲜事。于是我迫不及待地想要见见黑人老外长什么样！

　　这一天终于来临了，一走进教室，只见老师穿着一件白色T恤衫和一条黑色牛仔裤，真是cool！不过他的皮肤真够黑，像是涂了一层漆。他好像很喜欢我们这群可爱的中国孩子，一直对我们保持微笑，两个深深的酒涡真好看，还有那一排排整齐的牙齿，在黑皮肤的衬托下显得格外白。他对我们真的很友好！第一天上课就对我们说：“where are china,where are the best!”意思就是我们是中国人，我们是最棒的！我想老师的意思大概是让大家明白，做一个中国人感到很自豪！要努力！他上课真的'很有趣！记得每节课他都会教我们一首儿歌，为了让我们学得轻松，老师根据儿歌内容自编了许多不同的动作，有时撅屁股，有时扭扭腰，有时晃胳膊，有时抖动腿，那时我们很兴奋得跟他一起做，老师学生融为一体，他更像我们的大哥哥，真可爱！因为我积极发言，老师很欣赏我，所以他经常高高地竖起大拇指，露出他最灿烂的笑容，对我说：“good！”我开心极了！

　　他对我们真的很有耐心！课堂上他能做到让每一个孩子轻松回答问题，可以大胆地开口说英语，让我们感受到原来学英语并不难，就算问题回答错了也没有关系，老师依然对我们很温和，他会耐心地一遍一遍地教，一直教会为止。
