　　下课了同学们都纷纷去请教学习好的问她们这个怎么读，那个怎么读，当然我也不例外。可是有一个人不是，我的朋友王宁馨。她在一边津津有味的吃自己在楼下买来的东西。

　　上课了开始老师没有提第十课的事，所以我们都差点把它忘的一干二净。可是等到过课的`时候我们都非常紧张，老师说：“先读会儿，会背的过来找我背。”

　　我们班的同学有会背的所以都跑过去找老师背，我看见她们都去了我也跑了过去。一会儿我回来了，老师给我加了一颗星星。王宁馨看见之后急了所以也去找老师背，可是她回来时却是让我检查她。没办法只好奉命行事了，我检查她时她连会读都不会读。一会后我实在忍不住了就让他找老师检查，老师一看这样就只能她检查了，就让我先回去了。

　　这一天终于过完啦，这一天我可过得真累啊。

　　Some people say that English teaching at college in China has proved to be successful Take College English Test as an example， more than four million students have taken it and the number is still increasing year by year。 This means that increasing numbers of people are aware of the necessity and importance of English learning。 What is more， large numbers of students who are competent in English are XXX their contributions to the county in all walks of life。 Others， on the other hand， suggest that English teaching at college in China is a complete failure。 They suggest that， on the whole， most graduates still can＇t communicate with native speakers properly in spoken English。 Besides， they are incompetent in both translation and writing。

　　I think great progress has been made in English teaching at college in China over the past 15 years。 Yet， there are still some problems。 On the one hand， English teaching at college in China is still teacher centered， although the student centered approach has been advocated for years。 The teacher dominates the class， leaving students little time to practice。 On the other hand， English teaching at college in China is still test oriented。 Passing College English Test has been regarded as a prerequisite for graduates to get jobs on the job market。 So great emphasis is given on how to pass the tests rather than on how to develop the students＇ language skills。 As a result， students do not have the language competence though most of them have passed College English Test。

　　Therefore， it is my strong feeling therefore that English teaching at colleges in China should go through some radical reform。 Priority should be given to the development of the four language skills rather than to develop the skills in passing the examination。

In light of this,I will recommend Guilin as the first destination of my foreign friend's trip to China. Overlooking the Li Jiang River,Guilin is located in the northeast of Guangxi. The name was derived from the cassia trees of the location. The trees line the streets of the town with yellow flowers blossoming every September,filling the air with sweet scent. Guilin is a place of breath-taking scenery. From ancient times,Guilin has been noted for its elegant landscape. It features beautiful mountains,clear rivers,grotesque rocks and mystic crags,which is a feast for the eyes. Sitting on a bamboo raft drifting down the river,visitors can see the varied shapes of the pinnacles reflected in the water. They will feel as if they were in a scroll of Chinese landscape painting. 　　随着四级考试的临近，向来深为广大学员所头疼的作文问题再次浮出水面。在四级考试中，如果学生作文得零分，那么即使前面得了满分（即85分），其总成绩仍将视为不及格。因此写好一篇文章对参加四级考试的学生来说可谓至关重要，不容轻视。

　　纵观历年来的考题，我们不难发现议论文占据着七成以上的比例，因此首先我们要掌握议论文的写作要领。按照提纲进行构思，务必做到写好每段的主题句和扩展句。主题句是表达段落主题的句子，它阐明一个段落的中心思想，是段落的核心，段落中的其他各句都与它紧密相连并围绕它展开。扩展句就是解释或者说明段落中心思想的句子。写扩展句时要注意条理性，比如引出三条不同的理由可以分别用：Firstofall,furthermore,thelastbutnottheleast。

　　明确段落的写作思路之后，让我们具体来看句子的写作。考试实践表明，多数考生在写作上的主要欠缺不是系统的写作理论和方法，而是最基本的单句写作能力。有些同学因为对自身的实力缺乏自信所以考场上采取抄袭阅读文章里的句子这种方法来凑字数。这种做法实不足取，因为一方面容易被改卷老师发现而认为该考生有偷懒的嫌疑，另一方面考生从阅读文章里抄来的优美句子和考生自己写的错误百出的句子拼凑在一起令文章整体有不和谐之感，从而令改卷老师怀疑该考生有作弊的嫌疑。通过句子写作这一关，可参考如下步骤：

　　1.确保句子的正确性，即准确表达思想而且没有语法错误。以＂Therebe＂句型为例，错误的句子：Therearemanypeopleliketogotothemovies.正确表达：Therearemanypeoplewholiketogotothemovies.考生最容易犯的错误是在therebe之后又用了一个动词作谓语，使句子结构出现严重错误。除了要小心避免语法错误外，我们也不能忽视作文中经常出现的严重汉化的英语，即中式英语，比如："Manisiron,andfoodissteel.",＂Womenarehalfsidesky.＂。如何克服汉化思维关键在于动笔前先思考一下类似的'英文句式，并且注意谚语的翻译不能随心所欲，尽量找到规范的翻译方式。

　　2.注意句式的多样性，语言生动且富于变换才能最终打动评卷老师从而获得高分。不能从头到尾都是Iam…,heis…,Ilike…,这样的简单句。

　　1）适当运用同位语，Environmentalpollution,aphenomenonwhichlastedanumberofyears,hasgrownmoreandmoreserious.推荐用于开头对核心名词做出解释。

　　2）倒装，Onlyinthiswaycanwesolvetheproblem.建议最好使用在文章结尾处更显得掷地有声。

　　3）无灵主语，即没有生命的东西充当主语。当我们要讲述一个经验性的事实或者常理时，不要过多使用“Ithinkthat”议论文中过多使用“I”容易影响文章的客观性。使用无灵主语就可以解决这个问题Pastexperiencehastaughtusthatweshouldnotdependonothersforeverything.(Pastexperience就是无灵主语)

　　4）排比，可以增强语言表达的力度和整个文章的气势。例如在95年1月的考题“Canmoneybuyhappiness”中运用排比就可以收到比较理想的效果。Manypeopledieformoney,lieformoney,fightformoney,andevenselltheirsoulstotheDevilformoney.

　　以上是讲述写好句子的方法，但因为考场上时间比较紧迫，所以建议考生务必在考前背诵一些常用的理由句以防在考场上临时思路受阻而束手无策。如Itcanenrichourknowledgeandwidenourhorizon.或者Itcanincreasethegovernmentrevenueandrelievethepressureofunemployment.等等。

　　仅仅学会写议论文是不够的，近两年四级考试加大了应用文和记叙文的考查力度，这就要求考生在熟悉议论文的基础之上加强应用文和记叙文的训练。应用文主要考写信，考生必须明确写信的基本格式以及写信的流程：
