小时候每逢家里停电妈妈就取出一支蜡烛。这时我便好奇地问道：“这是什么呀?”“这是一根蜡烛。”“蜡烛是做什么用的呀”我好像要刨根问底似的一古脑儿要把问题全部问出来。“一会儿你就知道了”这时妈妈把蜡烛点燃顿时漆黑的屋里变得亮堂了。望着一闪一闪的烛光我的心也顿时变得亮堂起来温暖起来了几乎就在那个时候我便开始喜欢上蜡烛了。

有一天，我在做英语作业的时候，又遇到一个英语单词“goggles”。我既不知道它的意思，又不知道怎样读。正在我手足无措的时候，我看见爸爸在用电脑查东西。电脑真是神奇，不知道的东西一会儿就查到了。我问爸爸：“爸爸，我不知道的英语单词，能在电脑查到吗？”爸爸回答：“能，你自己来找找吧。”爸爸说着，就让我坐到了电脑前。我发现电脑里有个软件叫“金山词霸”。我打开“金山词霸”，把“goggles”这个单词输进去，然后点击查询，一看，我恍然大悟，原来“goggles”是护目镜的意思啊！单词后面有个小喇叭，按一下还能发出单词的读音来。我高兴极了，一边不停地按，一边跟着电脑读。就这样，在电脑的帮助下，我学会了“goggles”这个英语单词。从此以后，“金山词霸”成了我的第二个英语老师，一遇到不认识的英语单词，我就找它帮忙。慢慢地，我的英语水平提高了，上一次英语考试，我还考了全班的第三名呢！
