春节英语作文 篇1
Today, is a special day, you guess what, believe me not to say you also guessed, yes, is our Chinese traditional festival -- Spring Festival. On the eve of the New Year's eve, I gave a hand to my father and mother and gave them a taste of my cooking.
My father and mother Fried vegetables are potatoes. I picked up a fresh potato first, and then picked up the peel the skin of the potatoes with a knife to cut off, and then put the peeled potatoes in water wash, cut the potatoes on the table in silk, began to fry.
I poured the oil into the pan, and the oil seemed to be working against me, and the sound of "sizzling." I quickly poured the chopped scallion into the pan, and in a moment I smelt a paste. "Ouch! I cried out, and I hastily poured the shredded potatoes into the pan and began to stir fry. I poured the condiments into the pan, and soon came out of the pot. Although it was not clear in color, the taste was delicious. I was praised, and my heart was sweet. The twelve o 'clock bell was about to ring, and at this exciting moment, I stayed up all night like a chicken.
Twelve o 'clock came, the sky was gorgeous, and people were quiet at this exciting moment.
The next morning, I put on my new clothes and visited my grandmother's house.
Along the way, my father and I talked and laughed, looking at the roadside scenery, also is a funny. Road on both sides of the mountain was covered with thick pine, because of the low temperature in the mountains, the mountains of snow has not melt completely, snow water flow down the mountain to the creek, the pine trees on the hills were weighed down by snow, is really a beautiful winter picture scroll!
Finally, to grandmother's house. I jumped out of the car happily and hopped for my grandmother and my Cousins. When my Cousins saw me coming, they came together, and I took them out to play. I said yes. After asking our elders for their approval, we ran away happily.
On the playground of the village primary school, I stood in line by age, and my eldest brother ranked first, followed by sugar, and finally, yan yan. Some of our children jumped and danced on the school playground, like three happy little deer.
The New Year is not only for play, but also for the elders to send gifts and blessings to the elders, so we played enough to go to uncle, aunt and so on relatives.
For our children, the New Year is a big plus, which is to receive a lot of money, which is enough for me to pay for a semester.
The New Year is a time to throw your troubles into the old year and greet the New Year with a new look. These days, there is laughter everywhere, fireworks blooming beautiful "petals". I hope that in the New Year, life and study will be like fireworks!
春节英语作文 篇2
The Chinese New Year is now popularly known as the Spring Festival because it starts from the Begining of Spring (the first of the twenty-four terms in coodination with the changes of Nature). Its origin is too old to be traced. Several explanations are hanging around. All agree, however, that the word Nian, which in modern Chinese solely means "year", was originally the name of a monster beast that started to prey on people the night before the beginning of a new year.
One legend goes that the beast Nian had a very big mouth that would swallow a great many people with one bite. People were very scared. One day, an old man came to their rescue, offering to subdue Nian. To Nian he said, "I hear say that you are very capable, but can you swallow the other beasts of prey on earth instead of people who are by no means of your worthy opponents?" So, it did swallow many of the beasts of prey on earth that also harrassed people and their domestic animals from time to time.
After that, the old man disappeared riding the beast Nian. He turned out to be an immortal god. Now that Nian is gone and other beasts of prey are also scared into forests, people begin to enjoy their peaceful life. Before the old man left, he had told people to put up red paper decorations on their windows and doors at each year's end to scare away Nian in case it sneaked back again, because red is the color the beast feared the most.
From then on, the tradition of observing the conquest of Nian is carried on from generation to generation. The term "Guo Nian", which may mean "Survive the Nian" becomes today "Celebrate the (New) Year" as the word "guo" in Chinese having both the meaning of "pass-over" and "observe". The custom of putting up red paper and firing fire-crackers to scare away Nian should it have a chance to run loose is still around. However, people today have long forgotten why they are doing all this, except that they feel the color and the sound add to the excitement of the celebration.

春节英语作文 篇5
It's so fun to have a New Year. There are food, clothes, no homework, no piano and no need to play. One of my favorite activities during the Spring Festival is setting off firecrackers.
After dinner, it was not dark yet, and we began to set off firecrackers. At first, my father brought a lighted incense and taught me how to light firecrackers. My father taught me, and I will. But kangkang was so timid that he dared not. My father picked him up and watched me set off firecrackers, but he shouted and fled back into the room, hiding in the window sill. His aunt picked him up again and encouraged him to stand outside. But kangkang fled back into the house.
I put the firecracker on the ground first, and then leaned over to put the lighted incense on the fuse. But I don't know why my hand is shaking. Dad took my hand and started it. The sound of the noise, the firecracker rushed to the sky, and made a strange noise, and everyone applauded.
I took a new firecracker and put it on the ground. This time I must make it a success. I carefully put the incense together, trying to keep my hands from shaking. After a while, the firecracker went off with a bang. It was red. It was beautiful.
It's really interesting to set off firecrackers. However, I would like to remind myself that I like to play with firecrackers as much as I do. Please be safe when playing firecrackers, so don't blow up people.
